While De-Cooking this blog and redesigning it in Hugo looking at to tutorial videos and other content on YouTube about markdown this is the time that I am glad for cookies and tracking.
While I am one for wanting to keep my privacy not giving the big corporation all my data YouYube suggested made me realise that it can’t be all that bad. The reason for this is because of the markdown I had seen as part of the Hugo tutorials it suggested a video why Markdown is good for academic writing. I started watching it because I was interested in who Markdown could be used and it made me realise that while going through education that if I’d written my documents in Markdown more of it would have survived the test of time. Who am I kidding it wouldn’t of because my backup methodology was shocking considering that I was always doing a computer-based course all the time.
While I don’t encourage people to give up their privacy or encourage that you give all your information to a company, but what this experience has taught me is that you can also use the information a company has on you to get the right content of you. While I admit that some or most of the things YouTube suggest aren’t to my taste best on clicking on a video someone has sent me and then I get a tonne of those videos until I’ve watched sufficiently enough videos on another topic to over right them. But occasionally they get it right.
Here is the link to the using markdown in academic writing just in case your interested. I was so tempted to embed the video but you know no cookies.
