Emsisoft vs Eset 2020

Emsisoft vs Eset 2020

My security for years have been back and forth between paid and free solutions and Emsisoft Antimalware and Eset’s NOD32 has been the two paid products that have lasted the longest on my machines over the years so which am I going with this year?

The truth is for the past year or so I have been happy with Windows Defender in Windows 10, due to my surfing habits and general computer use that’s all I need. However when I decided to try Ark again I noticed that Windows Defender was scanning a lot while trying to load MODs so I decided to trial NOD32 and Emsisoft again to see if they would make a difference and surprisingly it did. So then it came to which one did I want to run?

After consideration, I went with Emsisoft because it was cheaper because there wasn’t a lot in it, to be honest. Which I later regretted a little because after buying Emsisoft I had an email off Eset saying they had UK based support. While there is nothing wrong with Emsisoft support I did notice that NOD32 was quicker at getting back to me and now it is obvious why because they are in my TMZ whereas Emsisoft isn’t.

Overall though I can’t choose between these to products as they both score well in third party tests along with having very little impact on your computer if any. The edge to performance goes to NOD32 so next year knowing that support is in the UK I am probably going to go with NOD32 just to support a company that is operating in my country, if they are after Brexit is finally sorted that is. What I would say though if you’re on an older machine or low end between the two go NOD32 and if you’re more worried about your Privacy go with Emsisoft. Not that NOD32 or ESET is doing anything shady with your data, they clearly outline how they use it on their site but Emsisoft has built their product around your privacy imparticular.
