How to Murder a Millionaire is the third book in the series Movie Club Mysteries by Zara Keane. It sees Maggie Doyle officially setting down roots on Whisper Island armed with her now official P.I.’s license and ready to investigate a missing sheep.
In true Maggie Doyle style however How to Murder a Millionaire isn’t as simple as it seems, when Maggie looks into the missing sheep all the stars align and in the style that we’ve come expect from Maggie in this series she discovers a dead body. This seems to be a running joke and adds humour to the situation when she has to call Reynolds to come and investigate. How to Murder a Millionaire while it took me longer to read this book than the previous had more ups and downs. At points even had me saying what the hell allowed as I didn’t see some of the twist and turns coming in the story line.
Part of why How to Murder a Millionaire was so good for me and the series so far is while the situation Maggie keeps finding herself in seem a little weird at times and the Island for the most part seems to a subdued and quiet island until Maggie arrived the characters are believable. I can see the characters development and relate to people in real life like it. Seeing the characters develop is also fun because as Maggie reconnects with them after absence from the Island nothing has changed.
How to Murder a Millionaire got 5/5 on Goodreads because it was well written and there was some really good twist and turns in this edition of the series. The investigations that Maggie had found herself in were intriguing and all came together to have you wondering what was next.
